Learning To Vape: What You Need To Know

Learning to vape is more of an art than a science and it’s really not complicated. Once you get to grips with your new e-cig, it’s purely a matter of understanding how to get the best out of it to achieve maximum vaping pleasure.

We would always recommend that you start with a complete vape starter kit rather than skipping straight to an advanced kit because that way, you will really get to know all the different componentry and how it works. You will also get to try some great premium e-liquids available and then, once you know how to vape to perfection and know exactly what you like, you’ll be ready to move on to the next stage.

If you’re in the “vaping for beginners” stage, lay your hands on one of our favourite starter kits. We recommend the V-Flow Starter Kit or the V-Pod Essential Kit--both contain all you need to begin vaping and they look incredibly sleek, cool and sophisticated.

Choosing a great tasting e-liquid makes a huge difference too because you get a fabulous hit of flavour. There is definitely some learning to do but learning to vape is fun!

Using A Button

Firstly, you don’t need to carry a lighter around or a box of matches because there is no flame involved. Your e-cigarette works through electricity. Of course, many e-cigs are different and some work automatically so you just inhale but other e-cigarettes are fitted with a small button. This button becomes a habit once you know how to use it properly. Additionally, some e-cigs come with a variable temperature setting. We would suggest setting yours on low and move the temperature upwards to achieve your ideal hit. So for that very first inhalation, set yours on the lowest available setting and just adjust it to a stronger temperature if you want a bigger “hit”.

Stock Up On E-Liquid

For those of you who’ve selected a vape starter kit with an e-juice container, also known as a clearomiser (like our vFlow Open System), you need to make sure you have plenty available. Get to grips with how to fill up your container and perhaps choose a second flavour to try; it’s always exciting sampling a new premium e-liquid. As a word of caution, there’s nothing more unpleasant than inhaling an empty e-cigarette so keep an eye on your levels and top up when you need to. Some e-cigs are pre-filled and need to be thrown away once the e-liquid has finished, so don’t worry if your first ever e-cig doesn’t have an e-liquid container.

How To Inhale

If you have an e-cig with a button, place the mouthpiece into your mouth and breathe in while pressing the button. This releases the e-liquid into the e-cig and produces the vapor. You don’t need to inhale deeply, start off light and have a few puffs to find the balance that works for you.

Some people like to inhale right into their lungs but others are happy to lightly puff away, it’s about working out what you enjoy best. You can exhale the vapor however you like, through your mouth or your nose – or even both! If you want another hit, inhale again, there’s no rule, it’s very personal. Some people inhale a few times, other people once every now and again.

Keep A Spare Battery

We’d also suggest carrying around a spare battery if you’ve bought a non-disposable e-cig, this is because once your battery dies, you won’t be able to enjoy your e-cig so you’ll need a back-up until you can reach a charger.
